Consists of correspondence (1915-1919) of Gustave Fougères with scholars during his directorship at l'École française d'Athénes. All the letters are long and relate to the activities of the school. All the correspondents are members of it: Emile Bourguet, Hellenist on his mission in Delphi; Edouard Driault, Hellenist; Charles Dugas, Hellenist and specialist in Greek ceramics, writing on various subjects interesting Greece; Gabriel Millet (1867/1953), Byzantinist, on Mount Athos; Charles Picard (1883-1965), Hellenist and archaeologist, director of the French school after Fougères (1919-1925); Girard Paul (1852-1922), Hellenist, archaeologist, and epigraphist; Jean Hatzfeld, archaeologist and Hellenist; Alfred Croiset (1845-1923); Edmond Pottier (1855-1934), art historian and archaeologist; and Louis Auguste Girard.
